"Sunday do you want to go to the lake?" That is what he said. What I heard was "Hey all the bills are due, the laundry is piling, Beach has swim or gym 6 days a week, putting contacts in the eyes of 7 yr old is the chore your life was surely missing, patching 2 hrs a day is a joy, your dog died, we have a new puppy to house break, want something else to juggle?"
Hold on let me go look in the mirror to make sure I am not a cranky old woman sitting in a lawn chair in the front yard screaming at kids to get off the grass.
Nope. Still me. The lake, huh? Let me pray about it (my kids hate it when I say that it translates into 'no way in hell').
What's going on is for Colby it is the last week of summer. Soon Fisher, my step son, will return to his mother's household for the school year. And this year he is returning (like homeschoolers do about his age) to school-school. Which changes a lot of things for a lot of people.
For me, as the schoolers returned to their classrooms I was in the middle of trying to settle things down so we could return to ours when the world which I felt was spinning a little too fast crashed bursting open at the seams.
Okay then. Get up. Start over.
Go to the lake?
I don't know how I will get all that needs to be done, done. I'm not sure how this will all work out or even if it will.
What I do know is I need to back up a bit to get a running start at this new adventure life has thrown my way.
The blog might have sit out a week or so while I house break a puppy & take time to heal.
I made a promise to myself not to give up on me.
And I'm not breaking that.
Yeah, taking the dog from me was...well not very nice or fair that damn dog made me not alone on this crazy planet but here I am.
So for now I will leave you with this:
Moonshadow
Oh, I'm bein' followed by a moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow
Leapin and hoppin' on a moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow
And if I ever lose my hands, lose my plough, lose my land,
Oh if I ever lose my hands, Oh if.... I won't have to work no more.
And if I ever lose my eyes, if my colours all run dry,
Yes if I ever lose my eyes, Oh if.... I won't have to cry no more.
Oh I'm bein' followed by a moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow
Leapin' and hoppin' on a moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow
And if I ever lose my legs, I won't moan, and I won't beg,
Yes if I ever lose my legs, Oh if.... I won't have to walk no more.
And if I ever lose my mouth, all my teeth, north and south,
Yes if I ever lose my mouth, Oh if.... I won't have to talk...
Oh I'm bein' followed by a moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow
Leapin' and hoppin' on a moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow
Did it take long to find me? I asked the faithful light.
Did it take long to find me? And are you gonna stay the night?
Oh I'm bein' followed by a moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow
Leapin' and hoppin' on a moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow
Leapin and hoppin' on a moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow
And if I ever lose my hands, lose my plough, lose my land,
Oh if I ever lose my hands, Oh if.... I won't have to work no more.
And if I ever lose my eyes, if my colours all run dry,
Yes if I ever lose my eyes, Oh if.... I won't have to cry no more.
Oh I'm bein' followed by a moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow

I'll be right back there is something I have to go find...mlb 8/27/11
I'm so sorry. I hope the healing goes deep and hard and well. I'll be thinking of you as you find your way through.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about the loss of your dog:( Brings back memories of my own animals friends who have passed on, but who will never be forgotten.
